Staying Healthy Through The Holidays with Vanessa Emslie
Hey, it's Vanessa here from Wellbyness, I hope that you're all having a wonderful time and getting ready for the festive season.
For many the festive season can feel like a time when you are going to really lose control and undo all the amazing hard work you've been doing on your health in the lead-up to this time of year.
So the first tip I have for you is could you get the calendar out, if you have lots of activities happening plan them in so that you can accommodate them within your lifestyle that will allow you to see when you have got too much on so maybe shuffle things around reschedule and also to ensure that you have got time and opportunity to eat healthy at home maybe fast if you do intermittent fasting leading up to events with family and friends Covid safety protocol rules, of course, and just so that you have an overview of what's going on.
The second tip I have is to prepare and that means either when you’re going out ask the host if you're going somewhere if you can bring something along that’s Keto or low carb or paleo friendly depending on how and what style you're eating so that there is something for you to eat.
Also, if you're going to a restaurant or eating out have a look at the menu ahead of time. This can also really help you so that you know exactly what you're going to eat or order and that you're not tempted to do something different.
And the last tip I have is present and no I'm not talking about these sorts of presents. I'm talking about being present so while you're at a function and maybe there's food that or drinks or something that is not what you'd normally eat, just be aware that this isn't what you would normally choose try and be conscious of the choices you make and be present in that moment so that you can try and do the best that you can do for yourself.
And if you have something enjoy it, sometimes life is to be enjoyed and as long as you are keeping within your parameters and your boundaries, enjoy the festive season make memories.
This year has been super tough on everyone and I really hope and wish you all the best in 2021.
May it be prosperous may it be healthy and above all may 2021 be filled with joy for you your family and your friends.
